Furniture with a Soul
Marching to the beat of a different drum is not always easy, especially when you are marching on a furniture hunt. A few weeks ago I started the hunt for a desk. I have been looking for a simple sawhorse style desk with a lot of depth for spreading out my files. (Organizing contracts requires a lot of room!) Something with a little style being that it will be the center of my office. The hunt through furniture stores became exhausting after seeing the same over sized executive style desk that looks like it should have stayed in 1983 or the flimsy computer desk with those pull out keyboard trays. Do they even still make keyboards?
A friend pointed me to Nadeau, a little shop in Green Hills. My first thought was- “ I can’t afford furniture from a shop in Green Hills,” but decided to pay the shop a visit.
There it was, furniture with soul- at amazing prices! Every piece in there is in need of a conversation. Large, chunky, brightly painted furniture- just adorable! Now my only issue is if I go with a pop color for my new desk or stick with something more traditional.

DIY Pendant Lighting
Chandeliers and pendant lights are all the rage right now. So, what if you have a can light in the perfect place for one of these divine lights? Do you drop $100’s and call an electrician? No sir, this is an easy do it yourself project.
New light conversion in my home
There are two ways to do this yourself.
The simple method is by using a screw in adapter. This is as simple as screwing in a light bulb. The only issue I found with this one is finding a globe that fit what I was looking for.

This is the option I picked because of the freedom to pick ANY pendant light and I already had my heart set on one.
